Art transformed into rugs

HEARTH PROJECT MEETS ANDERS ÖSTERLIN

In collaboration with the sons of Anders Österlin Hearthproject has created a translation from the paintings of Österlin into handmade tufted rugs. All rugs are made in a numer of 5 and numberd. This project is a celebration to the Malmö artist Anders Österlin (1926-2011) and his influence in the artmovement in Skåne.

Öppet event på Emporia

Den 28 Maj bjuder Hearthproject in till ett föredrag där vi får höra Pontus berätta om sin far Anders Österlins arbete inom konst och reklam.

Anders Österlin, en Malmö konstnär som var verksam under 1900 talet, som blev känd genom sina verk och älskad för sin kreativitet. Hans verk hittar vi idag i många museer runt om i Sverige och hos privata samlare. Tillsammans med C.O Hulten och Max Walter Svanberg var han aktiv i konst gruppen Imaginisterna 1944 till 1956. I samband med Cobra-gruppen, en konstnärsgrupp bildad 1948 i Paris ställde Anders ut sina verk runt om i världen, bl.a. i Amsterdam och Paris.

Kom och hör Pontus Österlin berätta om en av Malmös främsta konstnärer.

På plats kommer även Hearthprojects grundare Shirin vara och berätta om sitt möte med konsten av Anders Österlin och hur hon kom till att designa hans konst in till mattor. Lyssna på hennes livshistoria och hur ett konstverk av Anders blev en levande matta genom hennes vision och kärlek till konsten, hantverket och mattorna.
